Is Dragon Medical One compatible with Apple Mac?
Dragon Medical One with Helium is fully supported to run natively on an Apple Mac environment.
However, Dragon Medical One on it's own is not compatible with Mac. If you do not have a Helium subscription for Dragon Medical One you can consider one of the options below.
- VMWare or Parallels® – These applications run a Windows operating system “virtually” within macOS. Any version of Dragon can then be installed on this virtual OS and natively control other Windows applications. Dictated text can be copied across platforms into applications running on macOS if required. Dragon Medical One (DMO) is particularly well suited to this approach since it is very lightweight so minimal resources need to be allocated to the Windows OS. Other Dragon versions (such as Dragon Professional & Dragon Legal) will also work this way, however, system resources must be considered. A Philips SpeechMike or other USB microphone can be used with this approach.

Read more about VMWare- Windows Remote Desktop Service /Terminal Server or Citrix – If you connect to a Windows-based server, you can install some versions of Dragon on the server itself where it will be able to natively control other application on the server. PowerMic Mobile (only available for Dragon Medical One) is especially helpful here, as the server administrator may not otherwise allow the server to capture audio from a traditional microphone. This also relaxes the internet speed requirements, as high-definition audio need not be streamed to the server.

Read more about Citrix- Apple Boot Camp – This approach splits your Mac’s disk into two parts – one for macOS and one for Windows – allowing Windows applications like Dragon to be used as though your Mac were a Windows PC. Your macOS applications will not be available while running Windows, however, system resources are less of a concern as Windows will have access to all that is available. The virtual OS approach is still preferred where there are sufficient resources available to run both operating systems simultaneously.

Can I share my Dragon Legal Anywhere with other users?
No. As with all Dragon products, Dragon Legal Anywhere, Dragon Professional Anywhere, Dragon Professional Group and Dragon Professional Individual are licensed per author. Your Dragon user profile stores unique acoustic and language information, as well as system preferences and settings as well as the type of microphone you use, custom words, and vocabulary.
Sharing a Dragon profile with other authors is in breach of the Nuance end-user-license agreement (EULA) and will also significantly affect the Dragon profile accuracy. Multiple logins to the cloud platform simultaneously may also result in users being "locked-out" and data loss.

What microphone is best for Dragon Legal Anywhere Speech Recognition?
Selecting the right kind of microphone to suit how you dictate, where you dictate and what applications you dictate into is can make all the difference when it comes to your speech recognition accuracy.
Microphones should be noise-cancelling - preferably with noise-isolating features - and designed with speech recognition in mind.
It is also important to consider what your main objective is for speech recognition when selecting your microphone style. For example, if you are wanting to dictate directly into and navigate around a template or practice management software - you may wish to consider a USB Dictation Microphone such as the Philips SpeechMike Premium which was designed specifically for use with speech recognition.
There are many different styles of microphones that can be used for speech recognition, including; handheld microphones with navigation control (such as SpeechMike Premium and Nuance PowerMic III ) and of course headset microphones for those who require hands-free way of working.

Is Dragon Professional compatible with Apple Mac computers?
Unfortunately, in late 2018, Nuance announced that they would be discontinuing the Dragon for Mac range. We were advised that this was due to Apple’s API restrictions which left Nuance unable to implement some of the features that were available in the Windows version.
Whilst Dragon products such as Dragon Medical and Dragon Professional Ranges cannot run natively on macOS, they CAN still be used on macOS machines in one of the following ways:
- VMWare or Parallels® – These applications run a Windows operating system “virtually” within macOS. Any version of Dragon can then be installed on this virtual OS and natively control other Windows applications. Dictated text can be copied across platforms into applications running on macOS if required. Dragon Professional Anywhere / Dragon Professional Group / Dragon Professional Individual (DMO) is particularly well suited to this approach since it is very lightweight so that minimal resources need to be allocated to the Windows OS. Other Dragon versions (such as Dragon Medical One) will also work this way, however, system resources must be considered. A Philips SpeechMike or other USB microphone can be used with this approach.
- Windows Remote Desktop Service /Terminal Server or Citrix – If you connect to a Windows-based server, you can install some versions of Dragon on the server itself where it will be able to natively control other application on the server.

- Apple Boot Camp – This approach splits your Mac’s disk into two parts – one for macOS and one for Windows – allowing Windows applications like Dragon to be used as though your Mac were a Windows PC. Your macOS applications will not be available while running Windows, however, system resources are less of a concern as Windows will have access to all that is available. The virtual OS approach is still preferred where there are sufficient resources available to run both operating systems simultaneously.

What is the difference between Jabra UC-certified models and models that are certified for Microsoft Teams?
The Jabra headset models that are certified for Microsoft Teams support Microsoft Teams as a Plug and Play experience. The Plug and Play experience includes these benefits:
- Automatic selection as the default audio device.
- Features to answer and end calls, adjust volume, and mute.
If multiple certified audio devices are present, certified models also offer call prioritization. Microsoft Teams will correctly send the audio to the device that was used to answer an incoming call.
If you use a model that is certified for Microsoft Teams with a different computer telephony (softphone) client, the product should work the same as a UC model regarding audio and features (such as answer and end calls, adjust volume, mute).
If you are not using Microsoft Teams, use the standard UC-certified model.
